Every exhibition raises new questions, reveals unexpected connections and opens the door to further exploration. With this exclusive section by CaroArtVirtualGallery, 'Read' is the editorial space of CaroArtVirtualGallery, bringing together curatorial essays, museum notes, artist features, studio reflections and thoughtful publications that extend the experience of contemporary art beyond the gallery walls.
Here, artworks are placed in context, creative processes become visible and stories unfold from different perspectives. Inspired by exhibitions, museum visits, conversations with artists and ongoing artistic research, each contribution invites readers to slow down, observe more carefully and discover the many layers that shape artistic practice.
Rather than offering definitive answers, Read encourages curiosity, reflection and dialogue. It is a growing collection of ideas, observations and experiences that connects artists, artworks and audiences through meaningful storytelling, creating a place where art can continue to inspire long after the first encounter.

Een museumbezoek eindigt voor mij niet bij het verlaten van de tentoonstelling.
Juist daarna beginnen vaak de vragen, gedachten en verbanden die een bezoek bijzonder maken. Museum Notes is een verzameling van mijn persoonlijke observaties, verhalen en curatoriale reflecties, ontstaan tijdens bezoeken aan musea, tentoonstellingen en bijzondere kunstcollecties.
Deze notities zijn geen traditionele recensies of complete verslagen van een tentoonstelling. Ze vormen een persoonlijke blik op kunst, waarin ik indrukken, ideeën en verrassende verbanden deel die mij tijdens een bezoek zijn opgevallen. Soms staat één kunstwerk centraal, soms een tentoonstelling als geheel, een ontmoeting of een gedachte die nog lang blijft doorwerken.
Met Museum Notes nodig ik je uit om samen met mij opnieuw te kijken, vragen te stellen en kunst vanuit een ander perspectief te ervaren.

Studio Notes
Elk kunstwerk begint lang voordat het een tentoonstelling bereikt.
Studio Notes biedt een kijkje achter de schermen van CaroArtStudio en volgt het creatieve proces zoals het zich in de dagelijkse praktijk ontwikkelt. Hier deel ik persoonlijke observaties, gedachten en ervaringen over schilderen, onderzoek, experiment, materiaal en de voortdurende zoektocht die aan nieuw werk voorafgaat.
Soms ontstaan deze notities tijdens het werken in het atelier, soms naar aanleiding van een museumbezoek, een boek, een gesprek of een onverwachte ontdekking. Ze laten zien hoe ideeën zich langzaam ontwikkelen en hoe kijken, maken en reflecteren elkaar voortdurend beïnvloeden. Niet het eindresultaat staat centraal, maar juist het proces waarin keuzes ontstaan, veranderen en soms weer worden losgelaten.
Studio Notes vormt daarmee een persoonlijk atelierjournaal waarin de ontwikkeling van mijn eigen kunstenaarschap zichtbaar wordt. De notities verbinden mijn werk als kunstenaar met mijn rol als curator en laten zien hoe beide werelden elkaar voortdurend inspireren en versterken. Ze nodigen uit om mee te kijken achter de schermen en laten zien dat kunst niet alleen ontstaat op het doek, maar ook in de gedachten, vragen en ervaringen die daaraan voorafgaan.
